The first full show of this display started at 6 PM on Thursday, November 26th, 2009. We hope you enjoyed the display! 2009 was our first year dealing with animated Christmas lighting and we had a lot of fun and learned a lot. This is really a time and money consuming hobby (or obsession if you prefer). But absolutely worth it.
The good news is that the HAM (that is the Heart of America Mini-PLUS) get together was a great success in 2009 and again in 2010! Click Here to get information about this great one-day event. It was held on August 8, 2009 and August 7, 2010. There will be another HAM get together in 2012. In the meantime, plan on attending the PC PLUS in 2011. Click on the link to HAM-PLUS for all of the details and to register for this great event.
This display is located at 9708 and 9717 Lee Blvd in Leawood, Kansas 66206. Click Here for map location. Yes, that's right two houses, right across the street from one another. This makes for a fun display.
The first Lights "ON" was at 6 PM on Thanksgiving, Thursday November 26, 2009. The display remained on through the evening of Friday, January 1, 2010. Tune to FM Stereo 100.5 on your radio to hear the music.
Although the lights were on at dusk each evening, the light show did not start until 6 PM. In 2010 and 2011 the show will start at 5:30 pm and run until 11 pm each evening. This should allow enough time for the rush hour traffic to clear. We will play some Christmas music on the radio for your enjoyment before the show starts.
This display is on a major suburban street. It is a busy street. We ask that you not stop or park on the side of the street that is marked with "No Parking" signs. You can also park on 97th Street to the north or 97th Terrace to the south. We ask that you park and walk to get a better view of the lights. You will be able to hear the music over the provided speakers. PLEASE DO NOT block the streets or any driveway. Also, for your safety, PLEASE stay on the sidewalk and watch your kids! Safety First - Fun Second.
We have a fun new and improved display for you in 2011. Lots of surprises are in store for you this year. Take a look at the "Display" page for a list of the technical setup for 2011.
